I used to watch couples walking around holding hands and wonder why they felt the need to do that. I couldn't fathom why anyone would want to do that because I saw it as an invasion of personal space. I understand now why people hold
hands; I thought it was perhaps about possessiveness and saying ‘this is
mine’. But not, and when you've found the real thing it isn't an invasion of space either. It’s about maintaining contact. It is about speaking to one another without
words.
